ZIV KARTAGINER

Ziv Kartaginer is a trumpet player, composer, and arranger known for his distinctive blend of jazz, classical, Middle Eastern, klezmer, and world music traditions.

A graduate of the Jazz Institute Program at Rimon School of Music, he is currently completing a double major in Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, where he was awarded a full-tuition scholarship.

Originally from the Jerusalem area, Ziv’s family heritage spans Tunisia, Bulgaria, and Poland, and he grew up surrounded by klezmer, Balkan, and Middle Eastern music. These diverse musical influences have profoundly shaped his artistic voice, which is evident in his compositions, arrangements, and performances.

As a trumpet player, Ziv has performed at notable festivals and venues across Israel, Europe, and the U.S., both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. His performances have garnered recognition for his expressive depth and technical mastery.

In addition to his performing career, Ziv is an accomplished composer and arranger. He has contributed to several prestigious Berklee productions, including the Disney Reimagined—100th Anniversary Celebration Concert, the Berklee Singers Showcase: The Music of Mariah Carey, the Great American Songbook: Dreams—The Music of Fleetwood Mac, and the Berklee Middle Eastern Festival. Ziv also arranged for the Nu Deco Ensemble for their concert with Betty Who at the Miami Beach Bandshell. His arrangements showcase his ability as a storyteller who blends diverse musical influences into cohesive, innovative, and boundary-pushing performances. With his unique fusion of musical traditions, Ziv's work stands out for its originality and distinctive voice.
